Have you ever lost something and felt that emptiness? Like something had been taken from you, removed from you or your life. There was some type of what I call 'subtraction'. You don't have to have been a Maths genius to understand what that means. But what if I told you, you have to subtract sometimes to add. Well in Maths that simply does make sense 2-1 does not give you 3 or 81 it gives you 1. So how does that make sense in life. It simply depends on how you look at something or the amount of reflection you give to a given situation. I am NOT discrediting in anyway your pain in a given situation. A bereavement, a missed opportunity, the ending of a marriage or relationship. I am not implying that this pain was somehow good or worthwhile. Life can be unfair, but within in some special things can happen. This concept is not absolute.
Let me give you an example and this will be a vivid reminder to you. I sat with a friend and discussed the ending of a long term relationship she had been in. She had subtracted this man. Although this was painful and she thought that she had wasted a lot of TIME. TIME your most precious commodity. I reminded her that nothing had been wasted that somehow this disastrous relationship had geared her up and would make her appreciate the perfect one. Since the relationship she had had much addition to her life gained new hobbies and friends become a better person. Numero 1 example of addition.
I was listening to video on youtube and someone was giving an example of how they got a job. Well there was a lady let's call her Susan who couldn't understand much English when she moved to America. She went for an interview at a University in the USA and was greeted by a rude receptionist who told her she had 10 minutes to type what it seemed like a million pages. She had subtraction been to many interviews and been told she was not good enough. So she sat down and started typing and frantically typed away. After the 10 minutes her buzzer went off, and she stopped typing. Typing the receptionist must have been confused and shouted "That's not your buzzer keep typing." so she carried on typing for another 10 minutes. She ended up getting the job after typing for double her designated time. The University she worked at fringe benefits was that all her children could school there for FREE. Double addition.
